I haven't listened to weezer for ever, and its all because of this band. They're great. Nothing can describe them. Except for genious.

I give you hints as to who they are.

-They don't like girls with hitler hair cuts or men who talk in maths
-They like rubber band men
-They like using childhood games in their videos
-They like frustrating and confusing people in their videos
-They have just recently started playing new songs live
-They've been around forever, and have 5 albums, i think
- my friend really likes them, and so do i

the last one helps, doesn't it.

OK, if you haven't guessed it yet, you are a retard, jk, but come on now, hitler hairdo, that was giving it away.

RADIOHEAD

my piano teacher actually got me into them, they're sooo good

I always set concert goals for myself, as to which concert i want to see next, and the next concert im planning to see is radiohead. They haven't played where I live in a year and a half, so hopefully they'll be coming back around soon, but i might be getting my hopes up, i mean, because weezer tours so much, i might be jaded. There have been 3 weezer concerts where i live in the past year.

here is a total list of articles being written for the entertainment section of the newspaper:

Band Feature: White Stripes
CD Review: Cold Play "A Rush of blood to the head"
MF Doom
One Hour Photo
24 hour party people
music news
country music round up (no pun intended)
and some others...

well, today at tennis practice, my eye cleverly hit a ball, and i will probably develop a black eye tonight. I took her music for about 3 minutes until "sk8er boi" came on, I walked over to the CD player, threw the CD on the ground and inserted "A Rush of Blood to the Head," Coldplay's newest album. Anyways, before I go to bed, i thought i should update with a new band.

The White Stripes

Today I bought their CD...

okay...FINE, i didn't, i burned it, sue me, but anyways, i must say, this band, a brother and sister duo, is probably one of the most innovative bands right now. From the CD's production to the videos, it brings the Indie back into the spot light. Their first single "Fell in love with a girl" was brought to light after the production of their video, which i must add, when I first saw it, i watched all 1:50 minutes with my mouth agape. The video is simple, the brother and sister formed from legos playing their guitar and drums, respectively. However, the time it must have taken to set each lego figure up for each SECOND of that video is amazing. Just yesterday, i saw the video for their second single, and my personal favorite, Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, was amazing, as well. The video for this one is slightly difficult to describe, but the lighting and technical work is outstanding. The album is cohesive the whole way through.

THUMBS UP!

just thought id add for my own amusement, when i searched for "space twins" on morpheus (whose newest version royally sucks ass) i came across a huge collection of office space quotes, and sat at my desk for an hour reciting them along with my computer. I am a loser :)

-a very tired Jackie

Right now im listening to: Zephyr Song - Red Hot Chili Peppers

well, i should be doing my summer assignments right now, but im just too lazy, so I think i'll update my blog.

Band of the Day: The Space Twins

I love this band so much, I cannot even think of where to start. Well, I guess you can go to www.spacetwins.itgo.com for their history because I'm just really lazy and don't want to go to the trouble of typing out their whole history. II first got into the space twins almost 2 years ago, when I was first discovering weezer. The Space Twins is Brian Bells side project, guitarist for weezer. I read in the chronology on the weezer site about some of the space twins and got intrigued, so i went on a mad search for space twins songs. During this time, the official space twins site was actually somewhat active (it hasn't had an update since May) and they had Rings of Saturn and Rust Colored Sun available for download. These are both amazing songs, very "spacey" feeling to them. Unfortunately, non of their 7 inchers are available, but supposedly there will be a full album released in September which i REALLY doubt, but you never know. I told brian he needed to hurry up and everyone was expecting an album, so maybe that'll convince him to get off his scrawny ass...im just joking. Anyways, this is the list of mp3s I have of the space twins, and if anyone needs them, just IM me at "cutiebiz" and I'll send them over to you.

Space Twins:
A Brief History
Butterfly Collector
Goddess of Love
New Goddess of Love
Headache
Louder than Lies
No Show
On the Other Side
Osaka Aqua Bus
Osaka Aqua Bus (live)
Rings of Saturn
Rust Colored Sun
Space Twins Theme
Take My Place
There's Always Tomorrow
Tv, Music and Candy
Vacation States

You are Rowlf!
You don't draw attention to yourself much, preferring to keep your cool and stay in the background.

Take the What Muppet Are You? Quiz!

hmmm...i really don't know why, but for some reason, i really dislike Rap and Hip Hop.

I know I shouldn't generalize any music category, but for some reason, I just cannot stand rap and hip hop. I am not sure why, I mean, I would love to love it, I would love to see why and how much others love it, but for some reason I cannot. Earlier this summer, I went to a Multicultural Minority Journalism Program at Howard University, and I was the only non-black student there (im part hispanic) and got a huge dose of the hip hope and R&B culture. I learned how to go-go, which is quite fun, and I really enjoyed some of the cultural african music, but the music industry hip-hop i could not learn to love. I actually felt somewhat alienated, I wore my weezer shirt one day and was questionned over and over again. Some girls loved Beyonce from Destiny's Child, and other loved Ludacris, so on and so forth. I listened to their CDs and watched BET (black entertainment television) but I just couldnt break the barrier. It has nothing to do with race or any of that, i guess its just the sound of the voice with the music and the image rappers portray, with guns and half naked women. I just wish that I could see what others see.

That brings me to another topic. I was thinking yesterday about the weezer fan base and how many people are dedicated to them. Then I thought, there must be people around the world dedicated to bands I haven't even heard of. Thats a weird feeling, its like there's a big secret and you're not in on it yet. I mean, the girl that sat next to me in Chemistry might frequent the...oh lets just say, the Goo Goo Dolls message boards and no one would ever know. It's just kind of a weird feeling that there are people that love a band as much as you do around the whole world.

Hey everyone, this is my new "music" blog where I'll be talking an analysing music, so on and so forth.

Tonight, I will talk about Ozma

Ozma, to put it simply, is amazing

well, i guess im somewhat impartial, considering I met them and they were the most nice, down-to-earth people ever.

I remember the first Ozma song I heard, it was "Iceland" and interestingly enough, I didn't think it was Ozma, I believed it was Weezer, and if you listen to it, you can kind of connect the dots. Although the lyrics are something bizzare "the keyboard is with me, the keyboard keeps me company" its catchy and uplifting. Another song that is great is "tetris." Actually, I think this song has about 3 titles, and im not sure which one is the official title; "tetris" "korobeiniki" and "korobeiniki: the tetris theme" I'm going with the later simply because it incorporates all the titles so you can't be wrong. Some other songs include Baseball, Battlescars (which is great live) and Shooting Stars. They are currently touring with the Warped Tour, which I went to this past Thursday, and if you go, make sure to stop by their merch stand, because they just stand there, selling their tee shirts, so go say hi!

Right now I'm listening to: Weezer Radio, its fookin' hilarious
